
New Delhi, May 15: Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to reduce petrol and diesel consumption and avoid unnecessary foreign travel. He described these measures as urgent steps taken in the national interest and announced initiatives by the party to promote fuel savings.
Sachdeva also praised Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s announcements regarding fuel conservation. He stated that the state BJP would hold party meetings online to contribute to fuel savings.
The state BJP president emphasized that people in Delhi, along with the rest of the country, understand the significance of the Prime Minister’s call to save foreign currency. He encouraged all residents to adopt measures like public transport and carpooling to reduce petrol and diesel consumption.
He assured that all Delhi BJP officials and workers would adhere to the Prime Minister’s and Delhi government’s appeals by minimizing their fuel usage.
In response to the current situation, the Delhi BJP will also conduct its meetings online to support fuel conservation efforts.
These decisions come at a time when the Chief Minister has launched the ‘My India, My Contribution’ campaign aimed at promoting fuel savings.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced significant government initiatives to encourage fuel conservation, public transport usage, ‘Make in India’ products, and responsible lifestyles.
The government revealed that, except for essential services, a work-from-home policy would be implemented two days a week, and fuel usage by government offices would be reduced.
The Chief Minister declared that every Monday would be celebrated as ‘Metro Monday,’ encouraging government employees and ministers to use public transport.
According to the government, Delhi ministers and officials will avoid official foreign trips for one year, and there will be a reduction in large government events.
She also mentioned that special route plans for 58 feeder buses have been prepared to connect 29 government colonies with metro stations.
Gupta highlighted that every citizen has the opportunity to serve the nation. Small efforts like saving fuel and using public transport can become a significant strength for India.
