However, few are aware of when the shooting for this beloved series actually began. On Monday, actress Deepika Chikhaliya took to Instagram to disclose that the shooting commenced on March 9.

This series marks a golden chapter in the history of Doordarshan. Ramanand Sagar meticulously crafted it, leaving a lasting legacy. Today, whenever ‘Ramayan’ is mentioned, it is Sagar’s adaptation and its characters that come to mind. He not only entertained audiences but also conveyed the teachings of Ram and Sita to new generations, enriching Indian culture.
It’s noteworthy that ‘Ramayan’ first aired on television in 1987. At that time, many households did not own TVs, leading viewers to gather at each other’s homes or local shops, waiting for hours to watch the series.
Deepika Chikhaliya has appeared in several TV shows and films, but her portrayal of Sita in ‘Ramayan’ remains her most celebrated role.
