DC Captain Axar Patel Praises Team After Thrilling IPL Victory Over RR

Jaipur, May 2: Delhi Capitals (DC) achieved a remarkable victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, successfully chasing a target of 226 runs and winning by 7 wickets. This victory marks DC’s largest successful chase in IPL history. Captain Axar Patel expressed his delight after the match, praising his team’s performance.

After the match, Axar Patel stated, “Even after the last match, I mentioned in my interview that you have to come every day and keep doing the same things. You can always make changes. I am very pleased with how the boys played.”

In this match, DC included Mitchell Starc in the playing eleven. The legendary Australian bowler delivered an outstanding performance, taking 3 wickets. Patel commented on Starc’s performance, saying, “He is a legend of the game. After being away for three months, coming back and performing like this shows how great a player he is. I am very happy that Starc is back and showing everyone why he is such an exceptional bowler.”

Starc claimed the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Riyan Parag, and experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, conceding 40 runs in 4 overs.

Attributing the win to his team, Axar said, “The boys batted and bowled excellently, so I am very happy. We were able to implement our plans effectively, which is why we got the result.”

Regarding the importance of taking Vaibhav and Yashasvi’s wickets during the powerplay, Axar noted, “As a captain, you can’t be happier than this. If you can dismiss the key batsmen of the opposing team who can change the game during the powerplay, no one is happier than me at that moment.”

Looking at the match, RR won the toss and batted first, scoring 225 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. DC chased down the target, scoring 226 runs for 3 wickets in just 19.1 overs. KL Rahul, who scored 75 runs, was named Player of the Match.
