‘Dasvi’ trailer out, AB packs a punch

Mumbai, March 23 : The trailer for Abhishek Bachchan’s upcoming ‘Dasvi’ has finally dropped and it seems will be a fun ride filled with humour, given a great script that deals with a corrupt jailed politician who wants to give his class 10 exams from inside prison. The whole story in it self sounds a little far fetched but also brilliant for this is surely a different ballpark from what Bollywood is known to do predominantly. Abhishek is able to look the role of a dead beat uneducated politician while Yami Gautam is a tough policewoman. Nimrat Kaur, who portrays Abhishek’s wife appears to be in her comfort zone. Talking about the trailer, producer Dinesh Vijan said: “The trailer is a sneak peek into the lovely world of Dasvi. Maddock has always backed content based cinema, and Dasvi is yet another attempt at providing a wholesome family watch that entertains and enlightens. “Abhishek, Yami and Nimrat have knocked it out of the park. Audiences will fall in love with all three of them by the end.” Director Tushar Jalota echoed similar thoughts, and said: “Ever since we conceived Dasvi, it was clear we have a que film in hand, one that tickles people’s funny bones and makes them realise there is magic in knowledge. I can’t wait for audiences to witness this special tale”. From his look in the trailer it seems Abhishek has accomplished his wish of being fully unapologetic in his role as Ganga Ram Choudhary. Ahead of the trailer’s release, the, actor took to Twitter and wrote, “I’m so excited to share Dasvi with all of you. It’s a film very, very close to my heart. I really believe in this film and what it has to say. “To make a film that is entertaining and leaves you with a thought or something to think about gives me such joy. I hope it has a similar effect you too. I’ve always been very reticent to speak about my films, border-line apologetic about my work. People call it humility or lack of confidence in what I’ve made. I want to change that! I want to be unapologetic about this film. “We have worked tremendously hard and I believe deeply that we’ve made a good film. A film worth watching with your family and friends. I’ve always been told “let the work speak for itself”. “I’m sure Dasvi will. But, I too, want to manifest the positivity around this film!” In essence, it seems the social comedy may be right up the mark for both a good entertainer and stand out as a film different from its peers. The film also stars Arun Kushwah, Manu Rishi, Shivam Roy Prabakar and will release on April 7. ANV ING
