New Delhi, October 17 (Daily Kiran): Former Bollywood actress Zaira Wasim, best known for her performance in Aamir Khan’s film Dangal, has tied the knot. The actress, who quit the film industry in 2019 at the age of 18, surprised fans on Friday by sharing pictures from her nikah ceremony on social media.
In one of the pictures posted on Instagram, Zaira is seen signing her nikahnama (marriage document), while in another, she is standing beside her husband, gazing at the moon — a symbolic moment of love and spirituality.
Zaira captioned her post with a simple yet heartfelt message:

However, she did not reveal the name or identity of her husband, and both their faces were intentionally covered in the pictures. On her special day, Zaira wore a deep red lehenga, radiating traditional elegance.
Left Bollywood in 2019 for Faith
Zaira Wasim had announced her exit from Bollywood in June 2019, citing that the profession conflicted with her religious beliefs and personal values. She said she felt her work was taking her away from her faith and peace of mind.
In her statement back then, she wrote:
“Five years ago, I made a decision that changed my life forever. As soon as I entered Bollywood, I was welcomed with immense love and fame. But that wasn’t what I truly desired. The success and the spotlight didn’t bring me peace.”

Zaira received the National Film Award for her performance in Dangal and later starred in ‘Secret Superstar’ alongside Aamir Khan. She was last seen in ‘The Sky Is Pink’ (2019) with Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar.
After her exit from films, Zaira maintained a low profile, focusing on her personal and spiritual journey. Her recent marriage post marks a new chapter in her life, one that she appears to have embraced with serenity and faith.
