Bhopal : The novel coronavirus snuffed out three lives over the past 24 hours in Madhya Pradesh thus taking the cumulative toll to 10,724 even as 668 fresh instances of infection – compared to 690 on Wednesday – were detected following analysis of 68,697 samples.

A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight reported a fatality each in Bhopal, Indore and Vidisha districts. Active cases dropped to 5,170 and the positivity declined to 0.9 per cent. Bhopal spawned the state’s highest 122 new sufferers and the district hit triple figures again in this context though the number had dipped to 94 a day earlier.

While Indore was a ‘distant second’ at 50; Bhind, Burhanpur, Khandwa and Morena did not report even a solitary fresh patient. The infected tally touched 10,37,166 including 10,21,272 who recuperated; 1,124 of them during the period under review. A total 11,35,03,340 vaccine doses have been administered to date.
