Constable, wife gets hospital care after senior officers intervene

Udaipur : A constable driver posted at Dungarpur’s Sagwara police station realized the value of breath and the problems faced by the common public during the pandemic when he and his wife themselves suffered for hours. The oxygen level in their bodies lowered radically and their sons ran pillars to post to get oxygen supported beds in civil as well as private hospitals.

Finally,it was after the intervention of senior police officers of the department that the couple got admitted in a private medical facility in Udaipur. After their recovery, the constable posted an emotional letter on the social media which is largely being circulated.

Constable driver  Bapulal said on May 1, he and his wife who were in Udaipur, suffocated after their oxygen level fell. The couple were  taken to a private hospital on the Nathdwara road but they refused to admit due to non availability of oxygen beds. They tried several other hospitals in Udaipur but in vain. ” We had lost all the hopes and our sons felt completely helpless seeing both of us in agonising pain.

Then, thinking it to be my last conversation, I called Dungarpur SP Sudhir Joshi to seek help. Within a few minutes, DySP Rajiv Joshi and team from HiranMagri police station arrived with an ambulance and took us to the government COVID hospital at ChitrakootNagar.

We were given oxygen on the wheelchair as the beds were completely occupied there “Bapulal said. His sons later called ADG Dinesh MN and sought help in admitting their parents in any hospital. The officer took swift action and arranged a VIP cottage for the couple in a private hospital at Bhilo ka Bedla and the couple were shifted there. Bapulal said had the officers not been kind, he and his wife would have died. ” Generations to come in our family would remain indebted to both of you officers, we both are speedily recovering” he said.
