Ghaziabad, Aug 11 (HS) — A tragic accident late Sunday night claimed the life of a 25-year-old constable when a speeding truck rammed into a patrolling Police Response Vehicle (PRV-112) on the Delhi–Meerut Expressway in Bhojpur police station area.

The deceased constable, identified as Anuj Kumar, was on night patrol when a Rajasthan-registered truck collided with the police vehicle. The impact was so severe that the PRV was completely mangled; Kumar’s leg was severed while the other was badly crushed.
Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured constable to a local hospital before referring him to Subharti Hospital in Meerut, where he succumbed to excessive bleeding.
The incident has left the police department in mourning. Kumar’s family has been informed, and his body has been sent for post-mortem. Rural DCP S.N. Tiwari confirmed that a detailed investigation into the crash is underway.
