Congress slams BJP over price rise

New Delhi, March 21 : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday slammed BJP over price rise, while sharing a chart showing how commodities have become dearer over the last few years. The Congress leader shared a report, which said the expenditure on ration has increased around 9.3 per cent in the last six months, and around 44.97 per cent over the last two years. “People of India are suffering, not the Bharatiya Janata Party,” he said. Chief Spokesperson of the party, Randeep Singh Surjewala spoke on similar lines. “Grocery expenses rose by 45 per cent. Where is the elected government ? Will it be succeeded only by ‘religion and caste’,” Surjewala said in a tweet with the hashtag ”Price Rise”, attacking the Centre over a report on hike in food prices. He claimed that the price of edible rose by 71 per cent and salt by 33 per cent. The Congress chief spokesperson also highlighted the price rise of other grocery items from 31 to 100 per cent. The grand old party had earlier questioned the government over the same and said it affected the budget of every household and people of the country were cheated by the ruling dispensation. AO RJ
