Congress MP Manoj Kumar Calls BJPs Loss in Bankipur a Defeat of Tyranny

New Delhi, August 4: Congress MP Manoj Kumar addressed various pressing issues on Monday, including the results of the Bankipur by-election, the attack on Pappu Yadav, student protests in Jharkhand, statements by actress Kangana Ranaut, and challenges faced by the Punjab Congress. He emphasized that the outcome in Bankipur signifies a defeat for the BJP.

In an interview, Kumar stated, “This is a defeat of tyranny. Bankipur is the seat of the national president. The public has sent a strong message that the government must stop its authoritarian ways, as voters have decided to remove the BJP and save the country.”

Kumar expressed strong objections to Kangana Ranaut’s remarks about becoming radicalized after marrying a Muslim. He remarked, “She is known for her controversial statements. Everyone is aware of her behavior. I urge Prime Minister Modi and the Home Minister to guide their MPs on what to say and what not to say. The public has elected us to the House, and every word we speak holds value. We should avoid statements that hurt religious sentiments or cause harm to any community.”

Regarding the attack on Pappu Yadav, Kumar labeled the incident as unfortunate. He said, “Such actions should not happen to any MP. Throwing slippers and wielding knives against an MP is unacceptable. Those who commit such acts should face severe punishment. Our safety in Delhi is not adequate, and the government should enhance security for MPs.”

On the student movement in Jharkhand, he noted, “Protests by students have occurred across the country, including in Jharkhand. However, I want to reassure everyone that the government in Jharkhand is focused on development. The Chief Minister is always present among the people.”
