Congress Leader Pawan Khera Targets Assam CM Over Alleged Foreign Links

Congress Leader Pawan Khera Targets Assam CM Over Alleged Foreign Links

New Delhi, April 8: The ongoing exchange of accusations between Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Congress leader Pawan Khera is intensifying ahead of the state elections. On Wednesday, Khera once again criticized CM Sarma regarding his family’s alleged foreign connections.

The Congress party shared a video on the social media platform X, featuring Khera questioning the foreign links associated with the Assam Chief Minister and his family.

In the post, Congress stated that Pawan Khera, the head of the media and publicity department, has brought forth new revelations and questions about the allegedly corrupt CM of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Chief Minister is currently embroiled in serious corruption allegations, and instead of addressing these concerns, he is resorting to intimidation through police force.

Congress emphasized that Khera is a strong soldier of the party, unafraid of such threats. He has previously posed questions and returns today with even more inquiries. If Sarma has the courage, he should respond instead of hiding behind the police and using inappropriate language. The people of Assam are already aware of his misdeeds, and a verdict against him is expected soon.

In the video, Khera stated that over the past two days, the Chief Minister and police have employed various tactics against him. He revealed that police raided his flat in Delhi in his and his family’s absence, seizing phones and laptops. He expressed concern that police are now following him wherever he goes.

Khera questioned why the BJP is attempting to silence him and his party instead of addressing the allegations. He asserted that they will not be intimidated, stating, “I am from Mewar, I am a Congress member, and a soldier of Rahul Gandhi. There is no question of fear.”

He mentioned that he is avoiding the police because he intends to continue speaking out and asking questions. Khera shared that they have received documents and information that they are willing to disclose. Although it was expected that an investigation would be initiated, he noted that the police have been left to act freely.

He pointed out that their party president has more political experience than Sarma’s age, and the people of Assam will not tolerate such derogatory remarks against him. Khera also mentioned that new suspicious information regarding Riniki Sarma has emerged, which warrants investigation.

Khera raised questions about the authenticity of an Egyptian passport, a UAE golden visa, and an Antiguan passport, urging for an investigation into whether Sarma or his family members opened shell companies and acquired properties through fake KYC documents. He emphasized that it is their duty to ask questions, and it is the central government’s responsibility to investigate these matters.

He highlighted that CM Sarma’s brother is in the Assam police, while his wife and son reside in Dubai, where their child attends a school with an annual fee of 2.1 million. Khera asked, “Is this true?” He clarified that they do not wish to target families in politics but simply seek answers, as they focus on the hopes of the people of Assam during the elections.
