Bhopal, May 10: Ahead of the upcoming elections, Congress has launched ‘Project M’ in Madhya Pradesh to strengthen its grassroots network. This initiative aims to unite women from minority communities and expand the party’s organizational base.
The campaign was inaugurated at the party’s state office, Indira Bhavan, in Bhopal. Senior leaders, including State Congress In-Charge Harish Chaudhary, engaged with female representatives from minority communities to discuss plans for enhancing their roles in political and social leadership.
State Congress President Jitu Patwari emphasized that the goal of this initiative is to increase participation among women who have traditionally been excluded from mainstream politics.
Patwari stated, “‘Project M’ is a mission to connect minority women with leadership and decision-making capabilities. We want them to become active participants in strengthening democracy and society.”
Addressing the first meeting of this initiative, the State Congress Chief remarked that true political change begins at the grassroots level. He added that through this campaign, women will serve as a bridge between society and democratic participation.
Having been out of power in Madhya Pradesh for over 20 years, Congress is attempting to rebuild its base through focused social and organizational campaigns. Party leaders noted that ‘Project M’ is a long-term effort to create a distinct grassroots framework led by minority women and identify new leaders at the local level.
Under this initiative, Congress has formed a state-level women’s leadership group comprising approximately 160 members. These members will work to connect women in villages, towns, and urban areas with the party’s ideology, welfare agenda, and organizational activities.
