Congress Celebrates UDFs Victory in Kerala Elections

New Delhi, May 4: Congress leaders welcomed the clear lead of the United Democratic Front (UDF) in the Kerala elections, calling it a “victory of UDF unity.” They emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lost its relevance in the southern states.

Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi stated, “This victory is monumental for us, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Congress workers across the country. Special thanks to the people of Kerala, who not only gave the UDF a majority but a significant one.”

He added, “We are set to achieve a century in Kerala. This is a win for UDF unity and for Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.”

The Congress MP highlighted that this victory reflects the strategy of Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and the unifying efforts of Congress MP K.C. Venugopal.

On the prospect of Congress forming a government in another state, Pratapgarhi expressed joy, stating, “We are thrilled that our number of Chief Ministers will increase. The UDF is poised to form a government with a clear majority in Kerala.”

He further mentioned, “As a senior observer in the state, I am extremely pleased with the results.”

Congress leader and President of the Telangana Fishermen Cooperative Federation, Metu Sai Kumar, described the alliance’s lead in Kerala as a “victory for Congress workers.”

He accused the BJP of misusing constitutional provisions, claiming, “Despite this, the BJP has lost its relevance in the southern states.”

Kumar also alleged, “The BJP transferred officials from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan to West Bengal, aiming to control the administration. Millions of voters’ names were removed in a Special Intensive Review (SIR). These officials acted as agents for the BJP.”

Alka Lamba, President of the All India Mahila Congress, stated, “Our focus is on Kerala.”

She emphasized that the inability to form a government in any of the five states where elections were held now clearly indicates that the Congress alliance will govern Kerala.

Earlier, Kerala Congress President Suni Joseph expressed gratitude to voters and party leadership.

He said, “Thank you to the people of Kerala. Thanks to all AICC members who supported us, and to everyone who made this possible.”

He described this mandate as a “magnificent victory,” comparable to the UDF’s strong performance in the local body elections held in December.
