Raipur, February 20: The President of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee, Deepak Baij, has criticized both the state and central governments over various issues, including the opening of liquor shops during Holi and the Assam elections. He stated that the BJP government has devastated Chhattisgarh, claiming they lack funds to work effectively. Baij questioned the message the government intends to send by opening liquor shops on a significant festival like Holi.
He further stated, “Despite taking loans, the government has not been able to recover. Increasing electricity bills has not generated revenue. The rise in land rates and ongoing raids on businesses have not yielded any financial benefits. The government has previously raised liquor prices and now wants to open liquor shops during Holi, Diwali, and national festivals. It would be better for the government to allow 24-hour liquor sales to generate income.”
Baij also mentioned that the Congress party is strongly contesting the elections in Assam, with Priyanka Gandhi actively campaigning. He criticized the BJP government, which has been in power for two terms, claiming it has completely failed in Assam. This time, there is a negative atmosphere against the government. Similar to Bihar, the BJP is allegedly bribing women to secure votes.
Regarding the AI Summit, Deepak Baij accused the Modi government of bringing disgrace to the country by showcasing a robotic dog from China as a domestic innovation. He asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously diminishing the country’s dignity and suggested a collusion between Galgotias University and the Prime Minister.
Baij announced that after Holi, Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will visit to address various issues concerning MGNREGA and the state of Chhattisgarh. Preparations for this grand event are already underway, and it aims to highlight the failures of the BJP government. Congress workers and officials in Chhattisgarh are excited about Rahul Gandhi‘s upcoming visit.
