Concerns Over Law and Order in Tamil Nadu Raised by BJP Spokesperson Narayanan Tirupati

BJP spokesperson Narayanan Tirupati highlights law and order issues in Tamil Nadu, emphasizing the need for societal responsibility.

Chennai, September 26 (Daily Kiran) : BJP Tamil Nadu spokesperson Narayanan Tirupati recently addressed pressing law and order concerns during an event in Madurai. His comments followed a troubling case involving the sexual assault of a 12th-grade student, which has drawn widespread condemnation, including from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Tirupati emphasized that the safety of women and children must be a top priority.

He expressed alarm over the frequency of such incidents, noting that they occur daily in Tamil Nadu, particularly affecting schoolchildren. Tirupati questioned the reasons behind these occurrences, asking who should be held accountable. He suggested that responsibility lies not only with the police but also with the government, society, parents, and the students themselves.

Tirupati pointed out the alarming trend of children being abducted while riding bikes, indicating a significant breakdown in law and order. He called for increased vigilance from law enforcement, citing the rise in the number of two-wheelers and the lack of checkpoints since the current government took office. He lamented that violations of traffic rules have become commonplace, with multiple riders often seen on a single vehicle.

The spokesperson stressed the necessity of a forward-thinking plan to address these issues, stating that societal change is crucial. He also criticized the government’s decision to outsource the monthly meter readings of electricity usage to private companies, questioning the rationale given the existing workforce.

On the topic of power outages, Tirupati urged the government to consult senior officials to prevent further disruptions. He argued that as living standards rise, so does electricity consumption, and stressed the need for the Tamil Nadu government to act swiftly to ensure that power cuts do not become a regular occurrence.

In conclusion, Tirupati’s remarks highlight significant concerns regarding public safety and infrastructure management in Tamil Nadu, calling for a collective effort to improve the situation.
