New Delhi, June 6: The Delhi Police have granted the Cockroach People’s Party permission to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The demonstration is scheduled to take place from 10 AM to 5 PM.
According to order number 88321/ND (Ex) issued by the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi District, this permission was granted following a request from party leader Abhijit Dipke. The request was received at the police office today. The police have approved it as a ‘one-time exemption.’
The order clearly states that the protest must comply with all conditions set forth in the Supreme Court’s order dated July 23, 2018 (W.P. (C) No. 1153 of 2017) and related appeals, as well as S.O. No. L&O/48/2022. The party has committed to ensuring a peaceful demonstration, avoiding disruption to traffic, and preventing any form of violence or property damage.
The Delhi Police have made it clear that any violation of the established rules for protests in the Jantar Mantar area could lead to the cancellation of the permission and legal action. Adequate security measures will be in place during the protest, and traffic police will remain alert.
Jantar Mantar has long been a prominent site for democratic protests in the capital, with various organizations and parties demonstrating on different issues daily.
So far, the Cockroach People’s Party has not publicly disclosed the main issue of this protest. Due to its unique name, the party has previously sparked considerable discussion among opposition parties and on social media. The party is known for addressing minor issues, common people’s problems, and satirical critiques of government policies.
The police have urged the party to adhere to the specified time frame and ensure no unpleasant incidents occur.
