Coal India trades higher as its production rises by 11% to 47.3 MT in July

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 213.10, up by 1.75 points or 0.83% from its previous closing of Rs. 211.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 213.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 213.70 and Rs. 209.75 respectively. So far 2682659 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 213.70 on 01-Aug-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 132.80 on 23-Aug-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 213.70 and Rs. 194.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 131266.11 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.12% and 4.75% respectively.

Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 11.1% to 47.3 million tonnes (MT) in July 2022 as against 42.6 MT in July 2021. The company’s production in the April- July 2022 period increased 24.3 per cent to 207.1 MT, compared with 166.6 MT in the year-ago period.

The company’s offtake increased by 8.1% to 54.5 MT in July, 2022, over 50.4 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. Its offtake in the April- July 2022 period also increased by 10% to 232.0 MT over 210.9 MT in the year-ago period.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
