CM Devendra Fadnavis Praises Sharad Pawar for Commending PM Modis Global Efforts

Mumbai, May 20: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis welcomed the remarks made by NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar, who praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to enhance India’s global standing. Fadnavis also took a jab at the opposition, which has been critical of the Prime Minister’s foreign trips.

During a public event on Tuesday evening, Pawar stated that despite differing political ideologies, politics should never interfere in matters of national interest. He was referring to PM Modi’s international travels. Pawar commended Modi’s approach, emphasizing that the Prime Minister is working to elevate India’s stature on the global stage and enhance the country’s reputation.

Pawar noted that India stands at a new and distinct juncture today. While political views may differ, no one can deny that Modi is strengthening India’s image internationally. He urged all political parties to set aside their differences when it comes to national identity and prestige.

Citing examples of former Prime Ministers like Indira Gandhi, P.V. Narasimha Rao, and Dr. Manmohan Singh, Pawar highlighted how these leaders always prioritized national interest and India’s global standing in their policies. He reiterated that PM Modi is similarly committed to enhancing the country’s reputation.

Pawar also stressed the importance of rising above party lines when working for society, reminding people of their responsibilities towards the public.

In response, CM Fadnavis described Pawar’s remarks as highly mature and significant. He stated that what Pawar articulated is crucial, especially at a time when many are criticizing PM Modi and questioning the purpose of his foreign trips. Fadnavis pointed out that India has forged several important agreements with various countries during these trips, securing the nation’s future for the next 20 years. He urged against unnecessary criticism, asserting that the Prime Minister’s foreign travels are aimed at serving the country, making such criticism unwarranted.
