Beijing, July 22: The Chinese State Council’s news office held a briefing on Tuesday. During this event, Deputy Minister of Transport Xu Changguang announced that China has entered a new phase in traffic and transportation development. The primary goal is to establish a fundamentally modern integrated transportation system during the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Xu Changguang stated that China will mainly focus on enhancing the construction of major inter-regional and inter-basin transportation corridors to improve the distribution of basic infrastructures. The completion rate of the national integrated three-dimensional transportation network is expected to reach 95 percent. China will continue to accelerate the construction of essential infrastructures such as railways, highways, waterways, civil aviation, and postal express services, while also speeding up the development of logistics networks.
In terms of improving transportation infrastructure, China will primarily promote the upgrading of transportation facilities and digital transformation. This will enhance system integration and fusion within the comprehensive transportation system of modern metropolitan areas.
