Beijing, February 13: China has successfully completed its first mission to locate and recover the first stage of a rocket from the sea. The Long March-10 launch vehicle’s first stage was retrieved from the ocean early Friday morning.

According to the China Manned Space Engineering Office, the marine search and recovery team accomplished this mission successfully. This achievement is crucial for the development of the country’s reusable launch vehicle technology.

The Long March-10 rocket took off at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Shortly after launch, its first stage detached in a controlled manner and safely fell into the designated maritime area.

This rocket is primarily designed for human lunar exploration missions and will also assist in operations related to near-Earth space stations. The first stage of the Long March-10A rocket has been developed with reusable capabilities under a coordinated development plan.
