Beijing, June 13: The US Department of Defense recently added several Chinese companies to its “Chinese Military Enterprise List.” In response, a spokesperson from China’s Ministry of Commerce expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition on Saturday.
The spokesperson stated that the United States has ignored the consensus reached during talks between the leaders of both nations in Beijing. They accused the US of disregarding the overall interests of China-US economic and trade relations. The US is said to be continuously expanding the concept of national security, abusing its national power, and exerting undue pressure on Chinese companies. This action severely damages the international economic and trade order and poses a significant threat to the stability of global industrial and supply chains, causing serious harm to the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese firms.
The spokesperson urged the US to immediately cease its wrongful practices, withdraw the relevant measures, and return to the correct path of building constructive and stable relations between China and the US. This would ensure fair, just, and non-discriminatory treatment for Chinese companies. Otherwise, China will respond decisively and vigorously, holding the US fully responsible for all consequences arising from this situation.
