
Beijing, June 15: According to China Railway Group, from January to May this year, China Railway transported a total of 1.67 billion tons of goods, marking a year-on-year increase of 1.8%. The average daily loading reached 186,300 wagons, which is a 2.8% rise compared to the previous year. Notably, on May 2, a record 202,400 wagons were loaded in a single day.
The railway sector has rapidly developed rail-water intermodal transportation by leveraging the China Multimodal Transport Development Alliance. From January to May, the national railway’s rail-water intermodal transport volume reached 7.58 million TEUs, reflecting an 11.0% increase from the same period last year.
The total booking for ‘Single Bill of Lading’ logistics products stood at 47,000 TEUs, receiving positive market feedback. Improvements were made in automobile transportation services, effectively linking road and maritime transport.
During the January to May period, China Railway transported 824,000 exported automobiles, representing a significant increase of 55.5% compared to the previous year. This includes 422,000 new energy vehicles, which saw a remarkable growth of 110.3% from the same timeframe last year. This development has provided Chinese automobile manufacturers with a swift route for exporting their products.
