Chief Election Commissioner Emphasizes Importance of Transparent Voter Lists for Fair Elections

Coimbatore, August 1: Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar participated as the chief guest at the 30th convocation ceremony of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Coimbatore on Saturday. He addressed graduates, faculty members, and distinguished guests during the event.

In his speech, he highlighted the significance of transparent and accurate voter lists as the foundation for free and fair elections, urging everyone to actively engage in democratic processes.

Gyanesh Kumar stressed that the fairness of the electoral process largely depends on the accuracy and reliability of voter lists. Speaking to graduates, faculty members, and other dignitaries, he emphasized the responsibility of citizens in strengthening democratic institutions.

He encouraged youth, particularly first-time voters and future voters, to actively participate in the democratic process and responsibly exercise their electoral rights.

Kumar stated that transparent voter lists are essential to ensure that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to participate in elections. The Chief Election Commissioner also underscored the significant role of young graduates in nation-building.
