Raipur, February 21: The Election Commission of India has released the final voter list for Chhattisgarh following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on Saturday. The state now has a total of 18,730,914 registered voters, reflecting an increase of 234,994 voters.

According to the Election Commission, there were 21,230,737 voters before the draft list. After the SIR process, this number decreased to 18,495,920 in the draft list. The final publication of the electoral roll shows a total of 18,730,914 voters, with 2,499,823 names removed from the final list.

In an official statement, the Commission noted that since the announcement of the SIR, efforts have been made in ‘mission mode’ to distribute counting forms and digitize the filled forms for the 21,230,737 voters across the state. Meetings were held between booth-level officers (BLOs) and political party agents (BLAs) to confirm the status of counting forms that were not returned due to deceased voters, permanent transfers, or absenteeism.

The Commission reported that 27,196 BLOs successfully distributed counting forms door-to-door and completed the matching and mapping of voters. The latest photographs received from voters during the SIR program have also been included in the final voter list.

The successful completion of the SIR was made possible through the active participation of numerous volunteers, including 33 district election officers, 90 electoral registration officers (EROs), 1,990 assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs), 27,196 BLOs, and 38,846 BLAs. The cooperation of the state’s voters was also instrumental.

The Election Commission has shared a copy of the final voter list with all political parties. Chief Electoral Officer Yashwant Kumar stated that the latest photographs received from citizens during the SIR program have been published in the final voter list. He also congratulated all staff involved in the SIR process.
