This day is particularly dedicated to the worship of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Varda Chaturthi will be celebrated on May 20, 2026 (Wednesday).
According to religious scriptures, Adhik Maas occurs approximately every three years, with each day holding its own significance. Worshipping Lord Ganesha on the Shukla Chaturthi of this month yields special benefits. The worship on this day helps in overcoming all obstacles and receiving the blessings of Ganapati.
On May 20, sunrise will occur at 5:28 AM, and sunset will be at 7:08 PM. The moon will rise at 8:43 AM and set at 11:08 PM.
Regarding auspicious timings on Wednesday, Ravi Yoga will be from 5:28 AM to 6:11 AM. Any auspicious work or worship of Ganesha performed during this period is particularly fruitful. Although Abhijit Muhurat will not be available, Vijay Muhurat will be from 2:34 PM to 3:29 PM. The twilight period, or Godhuli Muhurat, will be from 7:06 PM to 7:27 PM. Additionally, Brahma Muhurat will be from 4:05 AM to 4:46 AM.
While considering the auspicious timings for Varda Chaturthi, it is also important to note the inauspicious times. Bhadra will last from 5:28 AM to 11:06 AM on this day. According to scriptures, no auspicious or new work should be undertaken during Bhadra Kaal. Rahu Kaal will be from 12:18 PM to 2:00 PM, Yamagand from 7:10 AM to 8:53 AM, and Gulika Kaal from 10:35 AM to 12:18 PM.
