CBI arrests yet another link in Bugtui carnage in Bengal

Bolpur, April 11 : The CBI probing the Bogtui massacre in which nine people were burnt alive has arrested yet another link – father-in-law of the main suspect Lalan Sheikh – as one of the prime witnesses in the horrific crime. This was the 5th suspect arrested by the CBI since the agency took the case on March 26. Before this the CBI has arrested four suspects from different hideouts in Mumbai last week and brought them in transit remand. Investigating following a Calcutta High court directive, the CBI on Sunday picked up Samir Sheikh, the father-in-law of Lalon Sheikh who is one of the main suspects in the March 21 Bogtui massacre in which seven women and minor were burnt alive, hours after TMC leader Bhadu Sheikh was bombed to death by some four dentified suspect at a tea stall in the area. Samir Sheikh is one of the prime witnesses in the ” Organised” crime, said a CBI source.Samir becomes the 26th person to be arrested in the Bogtui massacre. Lalon Sheikh has been on the run since the night of the crime, which was orchestrated by his followers. Lalan was also a close lieutenant of Bhadhu Sheikh, the latter being a deputy chief of a TMC run Panchayat was a very powerful man in the region. The CBI also made a search in the house of Bhadu Sheikh on Sunday and seized some incriminating documents. The CBI also quizzed the widow of Bhadu Sheikh in the case, which was also taken over by the CBI following a Calcutta high court order on Saturday. PC SJC KK
