
New Delhi, April 23: Casio has launched the G-Shock GW-BX5600CBG-2, a new model in its renowned 5600 series, in celebration of Earth Day. The watch is priced at $250 in the United States and ¥35,200 in Japan.

The GW-BX5600CBG-2 features bands made from recycled fishing nets, addressing the critical issue of marine pollution. Additionally, Casio has utilized bio-based resin for key components, underscoring its commitment to sustainability. The watch boasts a dark navy bezel and face that pairs well with its patterned band, resulting in a modern and versatile aesthetic.
Designed for durability and performance, the GW-BX5600CBG-2 is shock-resistant and can withstand water depths of up to 200 meters. Weighing only 55 grams, its compact dimensions are 49.1 x 44.1 x 13.4 millimeters. The Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) LCD guarantees excellent visibility in various lighting conditions.
This watch is equipped with advanced technology, including Casio’s Tough Solar system, which allows for up to six months of use (or 22 months in power-saving mode). Bluetooth connectivity enables synchronization with the Casio Watches app, facilitating auto time adjustments, world time for over 300 cities, and a phone-finder feature. Multi-band 6 ensures precise timekeeping across different time zones.
Additional features include a full auto-calendar programmed until 2099, a 24-hour countdown timer, a stopwatch, and five daily alarms. The watch also has a white LED backlight with options for 1.5 or 3-second illumination, enhancing visibility in low-light conditions.
In related news, Casio recently launched the G-Shock GMW-BZ5000RC-1 in Europe, showcasing a vibrant rainbow metal design. The Edifice EQB-1300 series is also set to debut in the region, featuring a premium steel construction.
