Casio has introduced the new G-Shock GWG-B1000TLC-1A Mudmaster in collaboration with Team Land Cruiser Toyota Auto Body, known for its consistent participation in the Dakar Rally since 1995. The watch’s design draws inspiration from the rally’s challenging night stages, featuring an all-black body with sand-textured resin straps that resemble desert dunes, complemented by a gold band loop symbolising moonlight over the desert.
The watch case combines carbon fiber-reinforced resin with an ion-plated metal exterior crafted through high-precision forging. It is equipped with a sapphire crystal and double LED lights to ensure clear visibility under harsh conditions. The dial incorporates red, blue, and yellow highlights inspired by rally car navigation systems, allowing quick and easy reading during night-time driving.
Functionality includes radio-controlled timekeeping via Multiband 6 technology and solar power for reliable operation. Bluetooth connectivity enables automatic time adjustments. The triple sensor technology measures temperature, altitude, and barometric pressure, while a compass features a Location Indicator function. This function allows users to set a destination through a companion app, and the indicator hand at 3 o’clock points towards it, aiding navigation even in sandstorms or low visibility.
The watch features three analog hands alongside a smaller digital display that shows the date and world time. It is designed to resist shock, dust, mud, and vibration, with cylindrical stainless steel button guards, button shaft gaskets, and a screw-lock crown. Vibration is further absorbed by αGEL located on the module’s sides and bottom.
Team Land Cruiser branding appears on the band loop, band, and case back, which is designed with multiple facets reflecting the rally vehicle’s style. The Mudmaster comes in special packaging made from recycled materials, emphasising Casio’s commitment to sustainability.
Scheduled for release in February 2026, the watch will be available in the UK for £779 and in Japan for ¥140,800 (approximately $889). Interested buyers can register for updates through Casio’s official UK website.
