Captain meets Shah, says discussed Punjab,not polls

New Delhi, March 7 : Former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh met Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital, and said he held general discussions on the situation in Punjab. Talking to media after the meeting, Singh, whose part Punjab Lok Congress is fighting polls in the state in alliance with the BJP, said the discussions were not on the polls. Asked about the outcome of the polls, he said he is not a “pundit”. “We held general discussions on the situation in Punjab, not on elections. We will hold detailed discussions after results come,” Singh said. Asked about the performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- Punjab Lok Congress – Shiromani Akali Dal Sanyukt, he said, “I am not a pundit, I am not somebody who can predict. All I can say is our party and BJP has done well.” Singh was also asked if he discussed some security related matters with the Home Minister, to which he said he cannot reveal the details of the conversation. The BJP alliance is countering the ruling Congress, main opposition Aam Aadmi Party and former ally Shiromani Akali Dal which is in alliance with the BSP in the state.
