BY Vijayendra Criticizes Karnataka Government for Corruption and Mismanagement

Bengaluru, May 19: Karnataka BJP President and MLA BY Vijayendra launched a verbal attack on the Congress government on Tuesday. He questioned the government’s decision to celebrate its three-year tenure, alleging that the state has witnessed “mismanagement, corruption, and administrative failure” under its rule.

As speculation about leadership issues within Congress continues, the Karnataka government is set to celebrate three years in office with a grand event named “Progressive Karnataka” in Tumakuru, near Bengaluru. During this event, the government plans to distribute property documents to 152,000 beneficiaries.

Vijayendra questioned what the Congress government has to celebrate. He claimed the state is grappling with rising debt, an empty treasury, and a lack of developmental projects. Infrastructure projects, including roads, hospitals, schools, and irrigation initiatives, are being hampered by a shortage of funds, while the government’s focus remains on advertisements and political management.

He accused the government of failing to approve payments to contractors, delaying infrastructure projects, and achieving zero development during its tenure. Criticizing Congress’s guarantee schemes, Vijayendra stated that these promises are irregular and delayed, often used more for electoral tactics than for public welfare. He also accused the government of increasing the prices of essential goods, burdening ordinary citizens.

Furthermore, Vijayendra alleged that under the current administration, scandals, corruption, and misuse of public resources have surged. He claimed that Karnataka is being turned into an ATM for the Congress leadership in an effort to preserve their position.

The BJP state president also targeted the government over the law-and-order situation in the state. He alleged that riots, drug networks, gang violence, murders, and assaults have increased, creating an atmosphere of fear among citizens. According to him, criminals appear emboldened under the current government, while ordinary people no longer feel safe.

Referring to recent allegations regarding prison conditions, Vijayendra claimed that jails have become party hubs where criminals reportedly enjoy VIP treatment. He questioned the moral authority of the Congress government to celebrate while criminals are celebrating inside prisons.

Accusing the government of failing in finance, development, welfare scheme distribution, and law enforcement, Vijayendra described the Congress government’s anniversary celebration as a reminder of “three years of mismanagement, corruption, appeasement, and betrayal of public trust.”

He emphasized that even if Congress presents its “self-congratulatory report card,” the people of Karnataka will ultimately deliver their verdict through the ballot box.
