According to reports, Arun Singh was passing by the DIG residence when unknown attackers opened fire on him. One bullet struck him in the back. After the shooting, the assailants fled the scene.
Local residents and police quickly rushed the seriously injured Arun Singh to Dhanbad Sadar Hospital. Following initial treatment, doctors referred him to Mission Hospital in Durgapur, West Bengal, for advanced care due to his critical condition.
