Hyderabad,Mar 7 : :The budget session of both the Houses of Telangana Legislature (Council and Assembly) began on Monday without the customary Governor’s address to the joint sitting of the houses. The government has decided to do away with the Governor’s address since the earlier session was not prorogued and hence the current session is not a fresh one. Finance Minister T.Harish Rao straightaway started presenting the 2022-23 state budget in the Assembly soon after the House met while the Legislative Affairs Minister V.Prashant Reddy will do so in the Council.. It is expected that the current year’s budget would be around Rs.2.70 lakh crores with sizable allocations to the government’s flagship schemes- Dalit Bandhu and Rythu Bandhu. The Business Advisory Committee of the Legislature will meet soon after the budget presentation to decide about the duration and issues to be taken up during the session. SMS SY 1240
