BSF recovers arms, ammo near IB in Jammu’s Akhnoor

Jammu, April 7 : Alert troops of Border Security Force on Thursday recovered cache of arms and amm tion smuggled from across the border in Akhnoor sector here. The BSF spokesman, Jammu Frontier, S P S Sandhu, DIG said that during a special search operation launched ahead of fence in sub sector Pargwal on Akhnoor International Border, huge cache of arms and amm tion was recovered. He said that the recovery included one AK 47 Rifle, 20 AK 47 rounds, two Rifle Magazines, two Italy made Pistol, 40 rounds of pistol and four pistol magazines. “There were intelligence inputs about Pak based anti-national elements attempts to smuggle weapons into Indian Territory,” he said. He further added that BSF troops were kept on high alert and the area between fencing and IB was regularly patrolled. “This morning our zero line checking, the BSF party recovered a bag near IB containing Arms and Amm tion, which was to be smuggled into Indian side and thus averted a major tragedy,” said the spokesman. DIG (Officiating IG Jammu Frontier), S K Singh said that the BSF troops seized huge Arms and Amm tion on International Border and once again exposed the evil designs of Pak based anti national elements and made a big dent on their nefarious activities. He further said, “BSF is always on high alert all the time and also committed to secure the International Border.
