Noida, September 1: A shocking incident has emerged from the Haroula village area of Noida’s Phase-1 police station. A young man was brutally beaten under the suspicion of theft. He was admitted to the district hospital in Sector 39, Noida, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Upon receiving news of the incident, the police launched an investigation and arrested five suspects. Additionally, a minor suspect has also been taken into custody.
According to police reports, the deceased has been identified as Pramod Kumar Rathore, approximately 27 years old, a resident of Sandila in Hardoi district. It is reported that Pramod arrived in Noida on August 31 in search of employment. He was last seen at a rented accommodation in Haroula Sector-5, where residents questioned him for identification.
Allegations suggest that after Pramod appeared nervous, the individuals present mistakenly assumed he was a thief and began to assault him. During police questioning, the arrested suspects revealed that they all reside in the rented house in Haroula.
On the night of August 31, they noticed an unfamiliar person in their home. The suspects claimed that Pramod did not recognize them and, during the inquiry, became frightened. Based on this, they concluded he was a thief and attacked him, resulting in serious injuries.
Following the incident, acquaintances transported the injured Pramod to the district hospital in Sector 39, Noida, where medical staff began treatment. However, due to the severity of his condition, he passed away during care.
Around 2 AM, police were informed via Dial-112 about the young man’s death. Subsequently, the Phase-1 police expedited their investigation. Acting on manual intelligence and confidential information, they arrested five suspects from Haroula, Sector-5, Noida.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Santosh Kumar Mandal (30), Karan Kumar Mandal (23), Suresh Mandal (48), Ronak Kumar Mandal (19), and Nikhil alias Bravo (22). A minor has also been taken into police custody.
According to police, Santosh and Karan are originally from Supaul, Bihar, while Suresh and Ronak hail from Madhubani, Bihar. Nikhil alias Bravo is reported to be from Ara, Bihar.
All suspects were residing in Haroula, Sector-5, within the jurisdiction of Phase-1 police station. A case has been registered by the Phase-1 police. Authorities state that the actual cause of death will be clarified following the post-mortem report.
Further legal action will be taken based on the post-mortem findings and other investigative details. Currently, police are interrogating the arrested suspects to uncover the roles of other individuals involved and to understand the full circumstances surrounding the assault.
