New Delhi, May 16: The kidneys are vital organs in our body, responsible for filtering blood, removing toxins, and maintaining water balance. When kidneys do not function properly, the entire body can be affected. Symptoms such as fatigue, swelling, urinary issues, and overall weakness may gradually increase. In such cases, the Ministry of AYUSH recommends practicing yoga. Among various yoga poses, the Bow Pose is considered particularly beneficial.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, the Bow Pose enhances flexibility and benefits essential organs like the abdomen, spine, lungs, and kidneys. In this asana, the body takes the shape of a bow. When performing the Bow Pose, tension and slight pressure build around the abdomen and lower back, which is believed to be advantageous for the kidneys.
During the Bow Pose, the body bends backward, activating the organs located between the abdomen and back. This movement improves blood circulation around the kidneys. When blood flows correctly to an organ, it receives adequate oxygen and nutrients, ensuring optimal kidney function.
The Bow Pose also helps reduce stress. Stress directly impacts hormones and blood pressure, which can affect kidney health. Regular practice of this pose can help calm the mind and alleviate pressure on internal organs.
Additionally, the Bow Pose aids in making the spine more flexible, which is particularly beneficial for individuals who sit for long periods. It alleviates stiffness in the back and lower back while enhancing lung capacity.
Moreover, the tension created in the abdominal area during the Bow Pose improves digestion. It activates the abdominal muscles, providing relief from issues like constipation and indigestion. This pose also boosts energy levels in the body.
However, the Ministry of AYUSH advises individuals with lower back pain, hernias, high blood pressure, or serious abdominal issues to consult a doctor or yoga instructor before practicing this pose.
