Mumbai, 12 January – The much-awaited third song from the film Border-2, titled ‘Jaate Hue Lamhe’, has been officially released. The song launch event held on Monday evening was attended by Suniel Shetty, Ahan Shetty, Anya Singh, Bhushan Kumar, and singers Roop Singh Rathore and Vishal Mishra.
Suniel Shetty appeared visibly emotional during the launch, as the original song was picturised on him in the first Border film, while in this new version, his son Ahan Shetty features on screen. Reflecting on the moment, Suniel described the film as very special to him and expressed how proud and emotional he felt seeing his son carry forward the legacy.

Speaking at the event, Suniel Shetty said, “Writing about this film, thinking about it, and having my son Ahan in such a big project is a huge moment for me as a father. It is an emotional and joyous occasion.” He praised singers Vishal Mishra and Roop Singh Rathore, acknowledging the challenge of recreating the song with its original emotion and love. “I was confident that Vishal could do justice to this piece,” he added.
Suniel also shared his thoughts about Ahan’s journey, mentioning that just as director J.P. Dutta gave him a break in the original Border, the same opportunity has now come to his son. He addressed misconceptions about Ahan’s career, highlighting that success is not automatic despite being his son, and expressed happiness that Ahan is part of Border-2. Suniel also commended Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar for their contributions.
Singer Vishal Mishra on the Challenge
For singer Vishal Mishra, performing ‘Jaate Hue Lamhe’ was a challenging task since the original song from Border is iconic. He shared that without the support of Roop Singh Rathore, he would not have been able to perform the song effectively. Vishal described touching the original composition as a dream come true.
About the Film and Upcoming Release
Border-2, scheduled to release in cinemas on 23 January, is based on the India-Pakistan war. Alongside Ahan Shetty, the film stars Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Varun Dhawan in lead roles. Prior to this, two songs from the film, ‘Ghar Kab Aoge’ and ‘Ishq Da Chehra’, have already been released, generating significant excitement among audiences.
