BJPs Virendra Sachdeva Criticizes AAPs Arvind Kejriwal Amid Resignations

New Delhi, April 24: Following the resignation of seven Members of Parliament from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and their announcement to join the BJP, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva launched a sharp attack on AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.

Sachdeva stated on Friday that while Kejriwal initially formed AAP to bring about a political change, he has quickly transformed from a party leader into a dictator. He accused Kejriwal of misusing power and dragging the party into a quagmire of corruption, leading to the gradual distancing of all founding members, from Shanti Bhushan to Raghav Chadha.

The Delhi BJP President emphasized that the public has witnessed how Kejriwal has maintained a model of exploitation in Delhi for a decade to expand his political base. He claimed that for over four years, Kejriwal has not only exploited Punjab’s industries and farmers to raise funds for political expansion in Gujarat and Goa but has also pushed the youth of Punjab towards addiction.

Sachdeva suggested that the recent resignations of seven influential Rajya Sabha MPs from Punjab and Delhi reflect their inner conscience. Among those resigning is the party’s organizational general secretary, Sandeep Pathak, which has surprised many across the country. Sachdeva noted that Pathak’s resignation raises several questions.

He pointed out that the organizational general secretary is a guardian of the party’s ideology, and his departure indicates that both the party and Kejriwal have strayed from their ideological path. Sachdeva urged Kejriwal to engage in self-reflection and reassess his working style, particularly as seven out of ten Rajya Sabha MPs from AAP announced their decision to join the BJP.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor remarked that when AAP MP Sanjay Singh addressed the media after the resignations of Raghav Chadha and Swati Maliwal, his face clearly showed disappointment and unease. Kapoor expressed that it is unfortunate that Singh labeled his former colleagues as traitors and reminded them of the party’s alleged favors, without acknowledging that these three young leaders dedicated 15 years of their lives to AAP and Kejriwal, only to be disrespected in return.
