Bhivani, April 26: Senior BJP leader Jay Prakash Dalal made a significant claim regarding the West Bengal Assembly elections on Sunday. He stated that Mamata Banerjee’s government is set to fall, and a BJP government is now inevitable.
Dalal referred to the massive voter turnout in the first phase of voting across 152 assembly seats in Bengal. He asserted that the high turnout is evidence that the public has voted for change in favor of the BJP. For the past 40-50 years, Bengal has experienced booth capturing, which hindered fair voting. This has led to a government that transitioned from Communists to the Trinamool Congress. However, this time, it appears that voting has been clean and in favor of the BJP.
Criticizing the Mamata government, Dalal remarked that the historic voter turnout clearly indicates that the BJP is on the rise while Mamata Didi is on her way out. He attributed this shift to misgovernance, corruption, and poor policies that have paved the way for a BJP government.
Regarding the recent defection of seven Aam Aadmi Party members to the BJP, Dalal stated that the foundation of the AAP is built on lies. He accused them of corruption and nepotism, noting that many of Arvind Kejriwal’s associates have left the party. He described their dual character, claiming they present themselves as simple while living lavishly behind the scenes.
Voting for the second phase, covering 142 seats, is scheduled for April 29. BJP leaders assert that the public has signaled their intent for a BJP government in the first phase and expect a clear majority in the second phase as well.
Results for the second phase will be announced on May 4.
