New Delhi, April 27: BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has responded to the recent inclusion of seven Rajya Sabha members, including Raghav Chadha, into the BJP. This move follows a letter from Arvind Kejriwal to Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma of the Delhi High Court.
Naqvi stated, “No individual has broken the party; rather, the entire party has fragmented. Therefore, I consider this not a defection but a division of the Aam Aadmi Party. When a political party divides, the chances of reform diminish significantly.”
Commenting on a video featuring Raghav Chadha, he added, “Movements shape personalities. Whenever political parties emerge from movements, they face divisions. Take Congress, for instance; it has divided multiple times. Mahatma Gandhi even suggested dissolving Congress after the independence movement.”
Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party and former Chief Minister of Delhi, expressed in his letter that he no longer expects justice from Justice Swarna Sharma’s court. Consequently, he has decided not to appear in court himself and has instructed his lawyer to do the same. Naqvi criticized this decision, stating, “Kejriwal has erred. It appears that the issue is not just a minor problem; the entire situation is dire. The court is a constitutional body, and Kejriwal cannot choose the court based on his convenience.”
Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s questions about Mamata Banerjee’s government, Naqvi remarked, “The UPA government was an unorganized coalition. Now, the India alliance has formed, but its condition is not any better. Internal conflicts persist within the coalition. In Delhi, they may appear as friends, but in Kolkata, they are at odds.”
