BJP Welcomes Calcutta High Court Ruling, Accuses TMC of Fearing Fair Officials

Kolkata, April 28: BJP leaders expressed their approval on Tuesday regarding the Calcutta High Court’s decision to reject actions against police observers ahead of the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections. They accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of fearing impartial officials.

Central Minister Sukanta Majumdar stated, “We welcome the High Court’s decision. It shows that the Election Commission is on the right track. The TMC is not accustomed to fair officials. They fear impartiality because if people vote without fear, they will vote against the TMC.”

Majumdar expressed optimism for peaceful voting in the upcoming phase, saying, “We hope this phase will also see peaceful voting. The Election Commission must continue to act strictly and take even tougher measures. In areas like South 24 Parganas, TMC goons have emerged as political leaders in just a few years.”

BJP leader Locket Chatterjee also welcomed the High Court’s ruling. She remarked, “We welcome the High Court’s decision. The TMC fears these individuals, which is why they filed complaints. Tomorrow’s elections will be very good. Everyone will vote peacefully. There will be no atmosphere of fear. More people will vote, including women, youth, and Generation Z for Narendra Modi.”

Chatterjee mentioned Diamond Harbour, stating, “The people of Diamond Harbour have not been able to vote in elections for many years. Tomorrow, they will vote without any fear.”

Earlier, state president of the Harbour, Samik Bhattacharya, defended the actions of police observer Ajay Pal Sharma, saying, “Go to court and ask them questions. This is a matter related to the Election Commission. It is the duty of the Election Commission to conduct fair and free elections. It is up to them whom they bring in and whom they do not. Those who are goons no longer fear. That fear must be reinstated.”
