BJP set to retain power in UP

Lucknow, March 10 : The BJP was set to retain power in Uttar Pradesh as counting on Thursday of the millions of votes polled in assembly elections showed that along with its allies it was leading in 211 seats, leaving the main opposition Samajwadi Party way behind. The Bharatiya Janata Party will become the second party after the Congress in 1985 to get a second term in the country’s most populous state. The Samajwadi Party was leading in 96 seats.
