New Delhi, May 20: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a strong counterattack against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following his controversial comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha. BJP National President Nitin Naveen claimed that Rahul Gandhi is like the shadow planet Rahu in politics, polluting the political atmosphere.
Naveen described Gandhi’s statement as deeply unfortunate, stating that it not only disrespects PM Modi but also insults the 1.4 billion people of India. He emphasized that Gandhi has failed to learn from past experiences, noting that every time he has insulted PM Modi, the public has responded by re-electing the Prime Minister. Naveen warned that Gandhi would pay a significant price for his derogatory remarks in the future.
He further asserted that Gandhi’s comments reflect a chaotic mindset. “In Indian politics, where decorum, social harmony, and mutual respect are valued, such statements are extremely regrettable,” he said. Naveen attributed Gandhi’s behavior to his repeated electoral defeats and growing frustration, suggesting that this desperation is manifesting in his choice of words. He added that while the land was once mortgaged by Gandhi’s ancestors, under PM Modi’s leadership, both land and integrity have been safeguarded. The Congress government, he claimed, was mired in corruption, while the BJP has effectively tackled terrorism.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh echoed these sentiments, stating that Gandhi’s language resembles that of an enemy nation. He remarked that the world is already aware of India’s economic status and does not require a certificate from Gandhi. Singh accused Gandhi of attempting to incite unrest in the country but reminded him that the people and youth stand firmly with PM Modi and Amit Shah.
Singh expressed his belief that Gandhi’s despair stems from the hunger for power within the Gandhi family, leading to a state of mental instability.
Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi commented on Gandhi’s mental state, suggesting that his recent return from abroad may have influenced his agenda.
BJP MP Bharat Singh Kushwaha asserted that India’s position is strong, especially in light of ongoing conflicts in neighboring countries. He expressed confidence that under PM Modi’s leadership, the nation is secure and progressing in the right direction. He noted that Gandhi’s statements are not taken seriously by the public or even his own party members.
BJP MP Anurag Thakur criticized the Congress party and the Gandhi family for undermining the Indian Constitution, recalling historical amendments made during Nehru’s government aimed at suppressing the media. He reminded that the Constitution was nearly obliterated during Indira Gandhi’s tenure, referring to it as “Indira’s Constitution.”
BJP MP Manan Mishra accused Gandhi of being a traitor to the nation, claiming that he meets with various anti-national elements during his trips abroad and conspires against India.
BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari described Gandhi’s thinking as chaotic, likening his rhetoric to that of urban naxals. He stated that Gandhi has labeled 1.4 billion Indians as traitors, revealing a strategy akin to the “tukde-tukde gang.”
Bihar BJP President Sanjay Sarawagi highlighted Gandhi’s despair, noting that he speaks against his own country while abroad and against the most popular leaders in India. He asserted that the public will never accept the kind of language Gandhi uses.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal condemned Gandhi’s choice of words regarding PM Modi and Amit Shah, calling them deplorable. He stated that this clearly indicates the Congress party’s state of confusion and despair.
