New Delhi, February 16: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Monday for his statements against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The party asserted that the nationalist organization does not require validation from a mentally unstable Congress leader.

This response came a day after Kharge accused the RSS of being involved in money laundering during a press conference in Bengaluru. He questioned the sources of funding for the organization, claiming, “The RSS has a network of over 2,500 organizations that funnel money to them. I am stating that these people are involved in money laundering.”

Kharge further raised concerns about why the organization is not registered and whether it considers itself above the law or the Constitution.

Speaking to the media, Kharge stated, “No one knows where the RSS gets its money. Over 2,000 or nearly 2,500 organizations in India and abroad support the RSS through so-called ‘donations.’ Where do they get the funds to lobby in the United States?”

He also claimed, “The U.S. government has issued a document stating that the RSS is lobbying for nation-building in America. Where does all this money come from? The people of India need to know how this so-called cultural organization is harming the social fabric of the country. It is doing everything except nation-building.”

In response to these comments, BJP leaders reacted sharply, defending the RSS and accusing Congress of deliberately defaming nationalist institutions.

BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Dev remarked, “The RSS is the world’s largest nationalist organization and does not need certification from mentally unstable individuals like Priyank Kharge. The RSS has played a significant role from the freedom movement to the present day. Even Indira Gandhi respected the RSS.”

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh also launched a fierce attack, stating, “Rahul Gandhi and the corrupt heirs of the India alliance are deliberately trying to defame nationalist forces, the brave Indian army, and Indian institutions under a foreign toolkit. This move is to appease their foreign masters.”

Chugh added, “RSS workers dedicate their entire lives to the nation. Using such language reflects mental bankruptcy.”

BJP National Spokesperson R.P. Singh challenged Kharge to engage directly with the organization, saying, “Come to any branch, participate in a weekly meeting, and you will understand what nationalism is. They deliberately make such controversial statements.”

BJP leader Satish Poonia commented that Kharge’s remarks reflect his frustration. He noted, “Kharge has used derogatory language before, but I believe it is his despair that is evident in his words.”

BJP National Secretary Om Prakash Dhankhar also criticized Congress, stating, “It seems the entire Congress has lost its mental balance.”
