New Delhi, February 21: BJP workers staged a protest outside the Congress headquarters in the national capital on Saturday. This demonstration was in response to protests by Youth Congress members during the India AI Impact Summit held at Bharat Mandapam.

The protest march was announced a day earlier by Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva. He stated that he would lead the march from the Mansingh Road roundabout to the Congress headquarters, voicing opposition to the alleged disruptions at the summit venue.

Speaking to the media at the protest site, Delhi BJP media chief Praveen Shankar Kapoor mentioned that a large number of BJP workers had voluntarily gathered. He expressed pride in the global AI summit, asserting that the event would bring millions of rupees in benefits and create thousands of jobs for the country. Kapoor accused Rahul Gandhi of showcasing his political frustration by protesting during the summit, claiming that the nation would not forgive such actions.

Earlier, Virendra Sachdeva claimed that the ten individuals detained for a ‘shirtless’ protest at the summit were not genuine Congress workers but hired troublemakers. He described the disruption as unfortunate, especially when the youth were showcasing innovations at the AI summit, and India was advancing in the tech sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He also accused the Congress leadership of damaging India’s image on international platforms.

The protest saw BJP MP Manoj Tiwari joining Sachdeva, chanting slogans against Rahul Gandhi, labeling him a ‘traitor to the nation.’

In Karnataka, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi criticized the incident, stating that the All India Congress Committee President should apologize to the nation.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil Rajbhar condemned the protest as irresponsible. He remarked that with heads of state from 20 countries and representatives from around the world present on Indian soil, such behavior at a prestigious event could not be considered in the nation’s interest.
