New Delhi: BJP Member of Parliament Praveen Khandelwal has expressed support for Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s statements regarding Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi’s alleged links with Pakistan. Khandelwal described the Chief Minister’s comments as responsible and urged Gogoi to respond to the allegations.
Speaking to the media, Praveen Khandelwal said, “If a Chief Minister makes such a statement, it is certainly a responsible one. Himanta Biswa Sarma has also said that if Gaurav Gogoi believes these accusations are false, he should file a case against him. That will bring out the truth. Now, it remains to be seen how Gaurav Gogoi responds to this.”
Earlier on Thursday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had accused Gaurav Gogoi of being an agent of Pakistan and claimed that Gogoi’s wife is also Pakistani. The CM challenged Gogoi by saying, “If they have the courage, they should file a case against me.”
In another statement, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal welcomed the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet’s decision to provide permanent rehabilitation to 99 Hindu Bengali families displaced from East Pakistan in Meerut. He said, “The decision taken by the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet is in the country’s interest because if there is a country for Hindus, it is India. If Hindu refugees do not settle in India, then where will they settle? In this context, Yogi Adityanath’s statement is commendable.”
Regarding the Indian economy, Khandelwal stated, “Despite global challenges, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s economy is growing rapidly. In the coming years, India’s trade, industry, and overall economy will emerge as the fastest-growing economy in the world.”
