New Delhi, April 25: BJP MP Ghulam Ali Khatana launched a sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, on Friday. He accused Gandhi of consistently creating disturbances in Parliament, particularly in the Lok Sabha, which he claims disrupts the democratic process.
In a conversation, Khatana stated, “The issues raised by Rahul Gandhi in his book do not align with his behavior. The role of the opposition leader should be constructive, yet Rahul Gandhi often appears to cause disruptions in the Lok Sabha. Parliament is a platform for debate and discussion, but frequent disturbances not only hinder operations but also push public issues to the background.”
He emphasized, “The role of the opposition in a democracy is crucial as it holds the government accountable. However, if the opposition is limited to noise and protests, its purpose weakens. Rahul Gandhi often raises issues aimed solely at creating a political atmosphere rather than seeking concrete solutions.”
Khatana also pointed out that repeated disruptions in Parliament affect discussions on significant bills. He remarked that many important decisions related to the country’s development are made in Parliament, and if work is not conducted systematically, it impacts the general public.
He criticized the Congress party, stating that it needs to engage in self-reflection. He suggested that if Congress encourages its leaders to take responsible roles, parliamentary proceedings could be more effective.
Khatana concluded by noting that the public is now observant and understanding. In a democracy, the public is the ultimate decision-maker, determining which leaders meet their expectations. He expressed confidence that in the future, the public will prioritize leaders who engage in positive politics and contribute to the nation’s development.
