Lucknow : The ruling BJP is leading in 125 seats while its nearest rival the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party is leading in 85 seats out of 403 seats in the postal ballot count underway in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
Bahujan Samaj Party candidates were leading in eight seats while the Congress in two seats, as per early report said.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Gorakhpur (Sardar) and SP president Akhilesh Yadav from Karhal seat were leading along with SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar from Zahurabad seat.
Two UP ministers Suresh Rana from Thana Bhawan and Sidharthnath Singh from Allahabad (west) were trailing while Dhananjay Singh from Malhani and Aditi Singh of BJP from Rae Bareli were ahead of their nearest rivals.
In Amethi, BJP candidate Sanjay Singh is trailing in the postal ballot count, while Maharaji Prajapati of SP is leading.
