Amritsar, May 24: BJP leader Tarun Chugh has sharply criticized the declining law and order situation in Punjab, highlighting the recent murder of a police officer and the rampant drug addiction among the youth.
Speaking to reporters, Chugh stated that Punjab is deeply engulfed in substance abuse. He accused the state government of failing to raise public awareness about this pressing issue. BJP workers across Punjab have initiated a campaign urging people to abandon drugs and embrace healthier alternatives like milk, yogurt, lassi, and ghee.
Chugh emphasized that everyone present should be aware of the dangers posed by narcotics and the benefits of consuming nutritious foods, which he claims can strengthen individuals. He organized a gathering at a famous lassi shop in Amritsar, where he encouraged people to enjoy lassi while promoting this message.
To empower the youth, packets of ghee were distributed, aimed at enhancing their strength and guiding Punjab towards liberation from drug addiction.
On the law and order front, Chugh expressed grave concerns, stating that the situation in Punjab has completely deteriorated. He described it as a regrettable state of affairs, citing incidents of bomb blasts at 22 police stations, missile attacks on police headquarters, and shootings of police personnel. He also mentioned grenade attacks on BJP offices, holding the Punjab government accountable for these violent occurrences.
Chugh asserted that they have taken to the streets to ensure that the youth of Punjab no longer align themselves with drug abuse, mafia influences, or gangsters. Instead, he envisions a future where the youth stand for progress and development.
