Srinagar, February 20: Sunil Kumar Sharma, the Leader of the Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, has shared his insights on various national issues. Commenting on the recent statement by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar regarding irregularities in voter lists across several states, Sharma expressed concern.
He noted that names of external individuals, such as Rohingyas, have been found on voter lists. The Election Commission is taking steps to address these discrepancies. Instances of names of outsiders or deceased individuals appearing in voter lists have also been reported in states like Bihar and West Bengal.
In response to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s remarks about bringing four documents, Sharma welcomed the initiative. He reminded everyone that Congress had a long-standing government in Assam.
When questioned about credit for the country’s achievements, Sunil Kumar Sharma stated that while anyone can credit Rajiv Gandhi, concepts like ‘Make in India,’ ‘Incredible India,’ and ‘India’ reflect the collective contributions of the new generation, young talent, Indian science, and various institutions. It is inappropriate for any single party to claim sole credit.
Additionally, Sharma condemned the stone-pelting incident on the Vande Bharat train in Hardoi, calling it unfortunate. He emphasized that such actions by individuals associated with any social or cultural organization are unacceptable and should be met with strict action.
Sunil Sharma is a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and currently serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
