BJP Demands Investigation into Alleged Recruitment Irregularities in Tripura Tribal Council

Agartala, April 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for an investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment process of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

Since 2021, the BJP’s ally, the Tipra Motha Party (TMP), has been strategically governing the TTAADC, which is considered the second most significant constitutional and political institution in Tripura after the state assembly.

On Sunday, a five-member BJP delegation met with Governor Indra Sen Reddy Nallu at the Lok Bhawan, submitting a memorandum demanding an inquiry into the recruitment of 120 positions within the TTAADC.

Leading the delegation, senior BJP leader and former Lok Sabha member Reboti Tripura accused the current TTAADC administration of being involved in widespread corruption. The memorandum stated that the entire administration has operated in a manner that facilitates large-scale corruption, misuse of public funds, and manipulation of project finances.

It further alleged that during the recent TTAADC elections, the council administration hastily and secretly announced job openings for Group-C and Group-D positions without adhering to any transparent processes.

According to the memorandum, such recruitment practices violate established standards and principles of natural justice, creating opportunities for alleged monetary transactions in exchange for jobs.

BJP leader Reboti Tripura also claimed that the TTAADC administration failed to comply with financial audit requirements during its tenure. He stated that they (TMP) have undermined financial discipline and engaged in extensive corruption in public services. He added that the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) had also alerted the state government to take appropriate action.
